University of Connecticut - UConn 2.3 After my time in a top fraternity at this school, I can confidently say that Greek life as a whole is dying a slow death. The CFSD is staffed with incompetent losers who have zero purpose in life other than tattling on college kids to the school for having fun. Their lives are so insignificant and dull that they’ve resorted to Greek life gossip for fulfillment for entertainment as adults. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the posts on this site were authored by them. It is truly sad and embarrassing. Pre-Covid, Greek life was allowed much more freedom. But ever since, the school and CFSD have been down our throats, attempting to exert more and more control over us wherever and whenever they can. The amount of social events that you’d be able to attend on any given weekend has declined dramatically over the years, for fear that if you have an innocent basement party, you will get kicked off of campus. As a result, business at the bars have boomed and nights at Ted’s have become insufferable. In the past, the bars were a place to go once a weekend to see people whom you don’t see too often. They weren’t the main attraction of the social scene by any stretch. You’d pay a small cover charge and move around freely, enjoying conversation with familiar faces. Now, you pay $20 to be packed in there like sardines with many people who I suspect don’t even attend the university. The demographic there and at the other bars has become very shady, my life has been threatened a few times. All this being said, UConn is still a decent place for Greek life, but it is not what it once was, and I don’t see it improving anytime soon. As the school becomes more liberal moves more in the direction towards being recognized as a public Ivy, the less they want to be associated with Greek life. Being predominantly white and wealthy, we are seen as an enemy of the administration with their DEI policies. If you are a prospective student on here with the intention of possibly joining Greek life at UConn, like I was a couple of years ago, I would tell you to look elsewhere. Hope this helps.

University of Connecticut - UConn 3.8 Solid. The frats and sororities are so different though it’s hard to rate them both together. The ville sucks, some houses are strict with alc laws, and it’s pretty far from main campus. Besides that, everyone in Greek life is super fun and it’s definitely worth joining
